Danny turned 19 months old today and he is just doing the funniest things lately. He is so much fun almost all of the time, it makes me forget those toddler tantrums.
His verbal skills are growing quickly. He makes animal sounds when you ask him "What does the lion say". He is obsessed with all things animals. Especially dogs, cats and zoo animals. There is a Traveler's Insurance commercial with lions, zebras, giraffes and elephants that he is just mesmerized by. Before it's even over, he's asking for "more". He'll watch it as many times as you let him. He's saying "daddy" which sounds more like "daayyy" and either "mommy" or "mine" or both. Hard to tell sometimes. He is just such a happy little guy. Plays independently, especially in the mornings when he wakes up. He will just hang out in there and it brings a smile to my face first thing in the morning to hear him just talking away in there. He answers yes or no questions. He nods his head for yes and will say "no no" and shake his head for no. We see the "no no" more than yes.
What else? He's running, walking backward, starting to climb, throwing balls with both his left and right hands, and loves playing chase. Eating is much better, although still no vegetables really. Lately he has been eating a lot. Usually at one meal during the day he will just keep putting food down. Oh and he's moved into some 18 month clothes, mostly pants. He's really in between 12 and 18 month pants. 12 month are too short and 18 month are too long. He loves chasing the dogs. Especially Hilo. They have worked things out so that Danny can pretty much do whatever he wants to Hilo as long as Hilo gets to lick him. It works for them. He's giving out hugs and kisses now too. He mimics lots of what we do too. When I blow on food before giving it to him, he looks at me and holds his hand to his mouth and blows. Funny.
Those tantrums I spoke of earlier? Usually happen when diaper changes or change of clothes have to happen. Oh, or teeth brushing or just randomly for no apparent reason. But for the most part, they are over within a minute or so and he's back to normal.
Halloween was fun too. He was a lion, complete with the "roar". Daycare had a little parade/party with all the parents and kids which was fun. All the little one year olds running around in their costumes. Cute. We didn't make it to the pumpkin patch of choice due to weather, but we did get out to pick out and then carve a pumpkin. Then on Halloween Danny got back in his lion costume and ran around out front, which he loves. He did go trick or treating to a couple of houses, but he got a little shy and needed me to carry him.
As for the new little one..we found out a couple of weeks ago that we will be having another boy! We are both excited to have 2 little boys 2 years apart. Craziness for sure, but lots of fun. I'm 20 weeks now, halfway there and feeling pretty good. Over the past week I've been feeling lots more movement and also felt kicks from the outside just a couple of days ago.
