17-18 months and a new baby on the way!

So much exciting things to write about since it's been a couple of months since my last post. Danny will be turning 18 months tomorrow, which I can hardly believe and we are expecting a new little one at the end of March!

Lots to update with Danny. Talking! At around 16.5 months he said his first word, "ball" and it seems to still be his favorite. Anything shaped like a circle is "ball". He also says "thank you", "mo (milk)", "more", "mama", "dada", "shoes", "fish", "dog" and a few others. Many of them are more in Danny specific language, but we understand what he is saying. Just in the past couple of weeks he started signing "eat" and "more".

He is now running, although still working on balance and coordination so he still falls quite a bit. He also loves to dance and spin himself in a circle, which is hilarious. He likes throwing balls or whatever else is in his hand. He's starting to figure out how to move his little cars forward while riding them.

He likes chasing the dogs around and is getting better at petting them gently. He likes going for walks outside, splashing in water, running with his head tilted back. stacking things, and his latest habit is bringing us a bunch of something (blocks or magnets or whatever) so that we can hold them and then he takes them and puts them back. He responds to "get the ball" and other tasks like "brush your hair". He loves animals and has been to the zoo several times now. He stops what he's doing when animals are on tv. He can also point to many body parts and loves pulling his shirt up to show off his belly.

There isn't much he doesn't like, although he tends to resist diaper and clothing changes. Not a fan. Oh and if he's pointing at something and we pick up the wrong item, he gets a little mad :) Low frustration tolerance and quick to throw a tantrum. But that's what happens at this age.

In the past month he's cut 2 top molars and the last 2 front teeth on the bottom. He's currently getting his 3rd molar, this one on the bottom. So I guess that makes 11 teeth.

He's doing pretty good with eating, although still no veggies. Oh and he's now refusing chicken nuggets but has opened up to eating some other things at home.

In other exciting news, Danny will be a big brother at the end of March! I'm about 16 weeks along and so far things have been pretty uneventful which is good. First trimester brought the usual fatigue and waves of nausea which felt similar to my first pregnancy. Now that I'm in the second trimester I have more energy and less nausea but have gotten frequent headaches. We are expecting to find out the gender on 10/22. I started feeling some flutters last week. Nothing on a consistent basis but I'm counting it as movement :)
