22 months and 34 weeks
It's hard to believe D Lud will soon be 2 years old! He has been quite the personality lately, his vocabulary is expanding and he is asserting his almost two year old pleasantries. He is obsessed with trains, fire trucks, cars and animals. He has also started saying some two word "sentences" like "blue car". Still loves saying all his colors, but yellow still seems to be a favorite. He follows directions when we ask him to get something from another room and responds to questions (although often it's with an attitude filled "no") we ask. He has been spending more time with grandma and grandpa so we can can get the house ready for his little brother! He loves loves loves Hilo and is always inviting Hilo for a game of chase. He laughs as he runs around the house. He is becoming a more adventurous eater, although not quite adventurous to eat vegetables, although I did sneak in some avocado into his enchilada. Success! I'm going to make some zucchini and carrot cookies this weekend in another effort to get some veggies in that kid. He loves going grocery shopping and as soon as we pull into the TJ parking lot he says "eat!" because he knows about the free samples in the back of the store.
I don't think he grasps the concept of his little brother on the way. I've noticed in the past month he says "baby" less often and sometimes when I ask him to say hi to baby brother, he pulls my shirt down. Denial?
Baby boy has been very active lately. And while this pregnancy has been pretty similar to my pregnancy with Danny, this one has presented some other challenges. I'm having lots more contractions this time which I guess is normal for subsequent pregnancies. I've had 2 trips to L&D due to these contractions. The first time was around 32 weeks and I was having contractions every 1-4 minutes and they sent me home after a few hours. Eventually they went away. The second time, once I got there and hooked up, no more regular contractions! I'm just hoping he decides to keep cooking for a while longer. I don't think he's dropped yet since I'm having such a hard time breathing. I've had 2 baby showers and am looking forward to another tomorrow. Randy is making progress on home re organization and transformation of the office to the "offery" so hoping we'll be ready for him when he decides to make his arrival.
