We have had lots of changes around here lately! Most notably, we moved into a new house which we are thoroughly enjoying. We have more space, a great backyard and an amazing park and trail across the street. Daniel loves loves the backyard and spends as much time as we allow him running around playing with all his toys and getting filthy dirty!
Leaving our old house was bittersweet. While we were happy to unload some of the responsibilities, we also had lots of good times there. We got engaged, I graduated from grad school, we got married and brought our two babies home there. Watched Daniel grow from a teeny tiny baby into this amazing fireball of a toddler. He learned to sit up, crawl, walk and talk there. Good times for sure but we are looking forward to making new memories in our new house!
Daniel is almost 2 1/2 and Ryan is just over 6 months old now and both are growing and changing faster than I can keep up with!
At his 6 month appointment, Ryan weighed 17 lbs 8 oz and was 26 inches tall. He is rolling both from his back to belly and belly to back and can sit independently for a few seconds at a time. He laughs and his smile just lights up the room. He is still so sweet and such an easy going little one who likes to stare at his big brother and smile at him. He has started sucking his two middle fingers now, so he is kind of over the paci. He loves playing with toys and putting them in his mouth, especially his sophie giraffe. We also started solid foods a few days ago; oatmeal and then apples. He isn't a fan yet, but I'm sure he will get there. He is doing great at daycare and seems to be just a happy guy. Sleep is still a crapshoot though. On a good night he is up around 2 and 5 and other nights...well much more than that :)
Daniel's verbal skills just continue to amaze us. He talks in long sentences and can repeat things we ask him to (and some things we don't ask him to!). He is observant and loves to point out everything he sees. "Tractor right there" or "car has big wheels right there". He does funny things too. He can walk like a chicken, duck, crab or turkey. He sings songs now which I just love. Some of his favorite are Old McDonald and ABCs. He loves to dance and most recently he did a funny dance to a song called "Moves like Jagger" and now he will sing it too. He can count to 10, usually in the correct order. He also seems to have adjusted very well to being back at daycare full time. He is happy to go in the morning and runs right in and some days cries when it's time to go home. And then there are the tantrums. Oh the tantrums. Frustrating for sure but age appropriate I guess! All part of being a terrific two!
Wow, I'm completely out of touch. I had no idea you moved. Good to hear about the boys, and they sure sound like a lot of fun. :)
