Fall Installment

I wish time didn't just slip away so fast. I really want to update this blog on a more regular basis, but life with 2 little ones just flies right by!

We have settled nicely into our new house and are still enjoying it. We have been busy the past couple of months. We had some friends and family over for a party, had a mommy and Daniel day at the zoo, went to a few pumpkin patches, celebrated Halloween and had fun at some birthday parties!

Halloween was so fun. Daniel finally decided on dressing up as a zebra and Ryan was a silly monkey. We went to the Halloween parade at daycare and watched all the little ones run around in their sugar induced craze. Grandma and Grandpa came over to see the boys in their costumes and both boys enjoyed some Halloween goodies from Gram. Then we explored our neighborhood while trick or treating. Lots of amazing decorations and most everyone was very friendly. Ryan fell asleep on his first trick or treat outing, he just couldn't keep up :) After a walk around the block we tucked our little animals in and sat on the porch to greet the other trick or treaters.

We also celebrated Regan's second birthday where Daniel had fun in the jumpy house and eating a cupcake. And today Daniel took his first try at bowling while at Owen's sixth birthday party. He took a couple strolls down the lane and had fun and then he preferred to just sit and watch after that.

Both boys are doing great. Daniel is now 31 months and Ryan is 8 months old. A couple weeks ago, Daniel had croup which landed him in the ER to get a steroid shot. He was so pathetic for a few days while he recovered but was then back to his old self. Ryan has had a cold/cough for several weeks now, off and on. We shall just call it the daycare drip :)

Daniel just continues to learn and grow everyday. He is still obsessed with cars and anything Cars related. He still likes to play with his farm animals and train quite a bit too. He is starting to do more craft related things. Lately we have been using crayons and stamps and just tonight he and Daddy played with play-doh for quite a while. He is starting to understand pretend play as well, so that is fun to just listen to him play in his own little world.

Ryan continues to bring so much joy to our lives. He is almost always smiling and laughing. He loves to be sung to and he likes to pat his hands on the floor as if he is keeping the beat. He is very hands on, grabs everything and now gets upset when you take something away he wants. He started sitting on his own at around 7 months and does pretty well now. He can reach out for a toy in front of him and pull himself back into a seated position. He spins around and pushes himself backwards on the floor. So while not officially crawling, he gets around. He is really enjoying lots of food now and is eating 3 meals a day.

We are so excited for the holidays. We are planning to spend Thanksgiving with my dad and then off to Barbara's house to be with the Ludwigs and let the cousins run wild. Hoping my mom will be here for Christmas and can't wait to get the tree up!
