Seems like so much changes with Ryan and yet he is still so young. He is 6 weeks and 3 days. Thank goodness he has given us a few nights of more sleep. He has typically been going down around 9, up at 1ish and 4ish. Still a grueling schedule, but much better than the 10, 12, 2, 3:45, 5, 6:30 that we were dealing with. I know it all changes and who knows what will happen tonight but at least it feels like we have somewhat of a schedule. He is typically only awake for an hour or so before nodding off again. We have had some success at naps in the bassinet. And I think we currently have a good working swaddle situation. The kid likes to be warm that's for sure.
He is much more alert when he is awake. Like his big brother did, he enjoys spending his time awake looking at the blinds and fireplace. He has given us a glimpse of some smiles which I love!
He is not much a fan of tummy time and admittedly we don't formally do it everyday. He is much more content being held, although he sure is squirmy and tough to hold sometimes. He loves being in the moby and will nap for hours in there. I'm looking forward to his 2 month appointment to see how much he weighs.
Funny story. Family trip to Costco. D was in the cart and R was in the moby. We were waiting for Randy to get us some lunch and as I'm standing there, R starts throwing a total fit; screaming and arching out of the moby and of course D then chimes in with his own tantrum. Oh the joys of a 2 year old and a newborn. The funny part is the looks on the four teenage girl's faces who were watching the whole thing. Haha. Hoping we inspired some birth control there.
D is transitioning well into his new classroom and into a big boy bed. Lots of newness for him. He has been sleeping in his "car bed" for a few weeks now and does pretty well except in the (very) early morning he cries and has been ending up in our bed.
We had a fun Easter and D had a great time on his multiple egg hunts. He caught on pretty quickly to the whole thing and enjoyed eating all the yummies from the plastic eggs. The Easter Bunny brought him some new train tracks, just a bit of candy, some bubbles, stickers and most importantly, his "chuggies" which are his new trains. Big fan of Chuggington right now. Oh and Thomas is still in too :)
